The Project
We proudly announce our project concerning the Rock Music Festival in Monte-Carlo, organized by proart, which will take place from January 23rd to January 24th 2004 at the Auditorium "Rainier III" in the Principality of Monaco.
Over the same period, two other main events will be taking place in Monte-Carlo, such as the WRC World Rally of Monte-Carlo from January 22nd to January 25th and the International Circus Festival – the IRC - from the 15th till the 22nd.
Our purpose is to organize an Event consisting of a selection among new emerging Rock Bands –no more than eighty- which will be initially mostly from Italy and from France, given, of course, the chance that it could be expanded to other Countries.
On this special occasion we will invite the Record Companies for the Rock Music attending the MIDEM in Cannes, which will take place from January 25th to January 29th 2004.
In the future, the Monte-Carlo Rock Event will have the chance to be linked to the MIDEM, for what concerns Rock Music.
This Event will create new synergies in the Rock Music World – which is growing fast - while the Record Companies could anticipate their arrival in France on week earlier.
Friday, January 23rd, all the Bands will start their performances before a technical jury selecting the best eight bands. |

The jury will consist at least of three professional artists and the Art Director, Mr. Franco Solar, plus other people belonging to the media supporting the event such as: "Radio Sanremo FM Italia", covering the Italian national network and part of the French Riviera up to Cannes; "NRJ", broadcasting over the French territory; a TV network such as "Rock TV Satellite"; Music magazines, such as "Rock Sound", "Il Mucchio", "Rockit"; Rock Band Associations, such as "Audiocoop" from Faenza, Italy; Mr. Franco Solar, the Art Director, will be representing the Auditorium.
During the selections, each group will perform only one song in front of the audience. The stage will be organized in order to have two different venues, so that two groups could be on the stage at the same time.
Selections will be subdivided in four turns by four hours each one with two finalist groups chosen from every selection.
The jury will be composed by two judges and the timetable of the contest will be as follows:
